What is multivariate testing and how is it different from A/B testing?

Multivariate testing lets you test 8 different versions of an email campaign. Choose to test up to 3 elements of a campaign subject line, content, sender name, or sender time. 


A/B testing lets you test up to 5 different versions of a single element of an email, landing page, form, or automation step.

Is testing available to all MailerLite users?

A/B testing is available to all MailerLite users. Multivariate is available to users on Growing Business and Advanced plans. You can test our Advanced plan for free with a 30-day trial. 

How do I activate or access multivariate testing?

Create a multivariate campaign by heading to the Campaigns section of your MailerLite dashboard and then choosing Multivariate test. 

How do I access A/B testing?

You can access A/B testing from the menus for forms, landing pages, campaigns, and automations.

Is there a limit to how much I can use testing features?

You can run as many multivariate and A/B tests as you’d like. 

How many contacts do I need on my list to run a multivariate or A/B test?

You can run tests with any subscriber count, but you’ll get more reliable results with larger groups. 

If you have under 1,000 subscribers, you have to send multivariate test variations to 100% of your recipients.
