Sakina Saïdi and the hats she created for MailerLite.

MailerLite's community is full of talented people using the platform to build something of their own. So when it came to finding an artist to design the swag for this year's workation in Portugal, we didn't have to look far.

Sakina Saïdi is a French-Moroccan illustrator based in London whose work draws from the mix of cultures, stories, and everyday moments that have shaped her life. She's also a MailerLite customer, using the platform to stay connected with her audience and share new collections with the people who follow her work.

We asked her to illustrate what MailerLite feels like from her perspective. The cream t-shirt, cobalt blue tote, laptop stickers, and embroidered cap that greeted every employee at the workation this year? That's what she came back with.

Sakina's path to MailerLite will sound familiar to a lot of people. She started on another platform, but as her audience grew, she began to want more.

“MailerLite stood out for its flexibility, ease of use, and the ability to keep several lists organized," she says. ‘I also found it very easy to connect with my website, which made the transition feel smooth and practical."

Now she uses MailerLite to stay consistent with her newsletters. She shares new collections, keeps her audience warm, and does it all without feeling overwhelmed. "MailerLite helps me stay consistent without overcomplicating things, which is so important when you're juggling a lot."

We gave Sakina a loose brief to illustrate what MailerLite feels like: her honest interpretation of what it means to "keep it lite."

What she came back was a unique design that showcases lightness, connection, and freedom. And we loved it!

"I wanted to focus on a feeling more than just visuals," she explains. "When I thought about 'Keep it Lite,' I immediately thought of lightness in an emotional sense—something playful, free, and easy. That's where the idea of movement came in."

Kites, clouds, and figures in motion appear throughout the illustrations that feature on a cream tee, a cobalt blue tote, and an embroidered cap.

"The clouds bring a softness and calm rhythm, while the kites add that sense of joy, freedom, and connection," Sakina explains. "I also added a pattern inspired by Portuguese tiles, as a way to connect to the workation setting and anchor the concept in a place."

The result is something that’s rooted in Portugal and specific to MailerLite, but still expresses a universal feeling that anyone can connect with.

"I wanted the illustrations to reflect both MailerLite's spirit and the people behind it. Something uplifting but still grounded, with a human touch."

This collaboration came from a belief that our community is one of the most interesting things about MailerLite. It’s the artists, writers, solopreneurs, and small business owners who use the product every day to do work they care about.

Sakina is one of them. And getting to see MailerLite through her eyes, translated into something we can actually wear, felt like a pretty good reminder of why we do what we do.
