‘Will not be sent’ in MailerLite Classic automations explained

When using a ‘Specific date of the year’ type of Delay step in your MailerLite Classic automation, you may notice the message ‘Will not be sent’ showing in certain Email steps.

This message shows which Email steps would not be received if a new subscriber enters your automation. New subscribers would not receive the Email steps marked with ‘Will not be sent’ because by the time those subscribers would reach your delay step, the specific time and date would have already passed.

For example, let’s say you have a “Specific date of the year” type of delay set for February 2 2023 at 10:00 AM, and an Email step that follows it. With the current setup, subscribers would need to reach the Delay step before 10:00 AM on February 2, 2023 in order to pass through it. If any subscribers were to reach this step after the set date and time, they would be removed from the automation and added to the Canceled section of the workflow activity, as the delay time would pass.
