Nikola, MailerLite CTO
MailerLite Labs, MailerLite's innovation group, today launched the beta version of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. The server connects an AI tool to a user's MailerLite account, turning the AI tool into a personal email marketing assistant.
This means users can now manage their email marketing from inside their AI assistants, including Claude, ChatGPT, VS Code, and Cursor, without switching tabs or logging into a separate dashboard.
Once connected, the MCP server allows an AI assistant to perform tasks such as:
Draft and schedule campaigns. Write a newsletter or promotional email, then schedule or send it.
Pull subscriber and segment data. Identify which segments are growing fastest, or how a specific list has performed over time.
Analyze campaign performance. Compare open and click rates across campaigns, or surface top-performing sends from a given period.
Trigger and inspect automations. Identify where subscribers are dropping off in a sequence, or start an automation directly from chat.
Find more prompt examples in MailerLite’s developer docs.
MailerLite's MCP server is available now for:
Claude: Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise plan
Cursor: Free or paid plan
ChatGPT: Free or paid plan
VS Code: Free plan (requires GitHub Copilot, which has a free tier)
MailerLite expects to add support for additional AI tools in the coming months as MCP adoption grows across the industry.
Here's what MailerLite's leadership had to say about the launch:
MCP gives AI assistants a live, secure connection to a user's actual marketing data. Instead of building a one-off integration for every AI tool, we built it to an open standard once, and it works everywhere that standard is supported. For our users, that means the AI they already trust with other parts of their work can now act on their MailerLite account directly.
Our users don't want another tool to learn, they want their existing workflows to get smarter. MCP lets us meet them where they already are, whether that's Claude, ChatGPT, or wherever they're planning their next campaign. We believe this is the future of how people will interact with AI: not by switching tools, but by connecting the ones they already use. It's a strong signal of where we're headed.
Beyond email marketing, MailerLite plans to extend MCP support to MailerSend and MailerCheck in the coming months.
Connecting takes a few clicks and requires no downloads or code. Full setup instructions for each supported AI tool are available in MailerLite's knowledge base.
MailerLite's MCP server is available today on all plans including the free plan.
